Why You Feel Stuck When You’re Actually Growing

Let me guess. You’re reading this sitting in your chair, or maybe on the couch, or maybe even in the shower, and you feel totally and completely stuck. Like head in hands, elbows on knees, nowhere to go but cry… stuck. You decided that you were going to live your dream life and manifest magic and money and love, and instead you’ve run straight into a brick wall and nothing is going right.

So let me say this right away… YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

Once you’ve crossed that threshold from “my old life isn’t working anymore” and decided to go after your dream life, you don’t expect it to be so freaking hard. You listen to coaches and influencers on social media telling you to “go after your dream life!!” and that “making money and doing what you love shouldn’t be hard.” And now you’re sitting there thinking, What did I do wrong?

You. Did. Nothing. Wrong.

Here’s the thing. Those coaches and influencers on social media aren’t wrong either, but they’re leaving out a really important detail. And that is this: inner healing and identity work isn’t linear. It doesn’t follow a specific timeline. It happens on its own and in the way it needs to.

Your body, mind, and language all come together to form your emotions, feelings, and patterns. Those emotions, feelings, and patterns create your identity and mold your model of reality. So when you decide to shift that identity and embark on this journey of development and personal growth, that new identity needs time to integrate.

You are no longer your old identity. You haven’t quite yet stepped into your new identity. Welcome to a fun and exciting place I like to call “The In-Between,” where your old life no longer fits, your new life hasn’t quite integrated yet, and you are just floating along thinking, wtf is even happening right now?!

And when you’re in this space of not knowing, going off vibes and blind faith, it has a tendency to send your nervous system quite literally into orbit. The subconscious mind loves and thrives on patterns, routines, and predictable circumstances. When it doesn’t have those things, your body tends to feel out of whack, stressed, unpredictable, nervous, and filled with uncertainty.

So how do you navigate this “in-between” space? How do you get through day-to-day life with a subconscious mind that is looking for the old identity and a nervous system that is, for lack of better words, nervous?

You bring all of the elements together. Mind, body, language, soul. In other words, NLP techniques and somatic work. You need to get all parts of you involved. When you only say affirmations without including the body, the body doesn’t know how to feel or what to do and can’t release the emotions that live in your body. Whereas if you only exercise and don’t work on your mindset, you fall back into old beliefs and patterns.

This is why I’m such a big believer in incorporating all parts of you so that they can work together in unity.

One technique I really enjoy using for regulation and grounding myself in my body is EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique. EFT is the practice of tapping on specific points on your body along the meridian lines, also known as acupressure points. If you’re familiar with acupuncture, these are the same points. If you’re interested in learning more about EFT, here is the link to my guide on how and when to use EFT.

I’ll leave you with this one-liner that I tell myself every single day: “Being stuck or confused is the step right before clarity comes.”

You are literally one step away from clarity. 💕

All my love,

xo, Claire ✨
